NOTES FROM FATHER STEFAN
Dear brothers and sisters!
We have few personnel changes in our Cluster parishes. We will be saying goodbye to Fr. Patrick Baffour-Akoto, our parochial vicar, who will be leaving by August 17th. Fr. Patrick touched many hearts and minds of many parishioners with his words of preaching and his love for the Eucharist. We are thankful to Fr. Patrick for his work in our parishes and we wish him many blessings on his next assignment.
We will be welcoming Fr. Patricio D. Alcantara, currently serving as parochial vicar the Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Chesapeake. Fr. Patricio will be arriving on August 17th!
Our Campus Minister, Kassandra Leal will be also leaving in next couple of weeks. Kassandra was accepted to the candidacy for the Carmelite Sisters of the Most Sacred Heart of Los Angeles. Kassandra’s prayerful spirit and wisdom touched many college students and parishioners. We wish Kassandra many blessing in LA, and we humbly ask for her and Carmelite’s Sister prayers for our parishes!
Here is the new Diocesan announcement for the online Mass stream:
“Please note: Due to COVID19, Mass is being live streamed for use on various Diocesan digital media accounts of the Catholic Diocese of Richmond, including, but not limited to, the websites of the Catholic Diocese of Richmond and The Catholic Virginian, and social media platforms of the Catholic Diocese of Richmond. Photography and/or screenshot images from the livestream may be used for The Catholic Virginian print edition. If you do not wish to be captured by live streaming, please refrain from attending that particular Mass time.”
“O Mary, you always shine on our path as a sign of salvation and of hope. We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick, who at the cross took part in Jesus' pain, keeping your faith firm. You, Salvation of the Roman People, know what we need, and we are sure you will provide so that, as in Cana of Galilee, we may return to joy and to feasting after this time of trial. Help us, Mother of Divine Love, to conform to the will of the Father and to do as we are told by Jesus, who has taken upon himself our sufferings and carried our sorrows to lead us, through the cross, to the joy of the resurrection. Amen. Under your protection, we seek refuge, Holy Mother of God. Do not disdain the entreaties of we who are in trial, but deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin.”
